Lodge Cast Iron Dual Handle Pan Review

I had visions of this new Lodge 12 inch dual handle cast iron pan cooking up some good eats on my Kamado Joe Classic grill. It’s a perfect fit and centers up nicely on the grill grate giving me plenty of cooking space.

It was the dual loop handles that really caught my eye. The dual loop makes it easier to store when not in use. It also fits better on the dinner table without the longer conventional handle that sometimes get in the way.

The Lodge 12 inch cast iron dual handle pan. Just a bit of snow and ice here, but it’s decent enough outside to light up the grill and try out this new cookware.

We had been using our Lodge 10 inch cast iron skillet (the Lodge L8SK3) for most everything. It works great, but the handle really kept it from being fully functional outside on our Kamado Joe grill.

Having an assortment of cast iron skillet sizes is a must. They are inexpensive, so why not.

So I decided to whipped up a batch of something the grill as of test of my new Lodge cast iron dual handle pan and see how it performed.

You might wonder why the Lodge 12-inch cast iron pan has a L10SKL marking? Well, these markings come from a time when wood-burning cook stoves were used for meal preparation. The stove top openings were known as stove eyes and were of standard sizes. The stove eye would have a removable cover piece. So a number 10 cast iron pan would be used for a #10 stove eye opening.

Lodge Cast Iron Dual Handle Pan – Performance

I was in the mood for some pork curry. So I made up a batch of my Kamado Joe coconut curry pork meatballs.

So step one was to wood smoke a batch of pork meatballs. When the pork meatballs finished smoking, I removed them from the grill.

Next, I put the skillet on the grill and waited for it to stabilize at 350 °F.
